Join us for the final week of The Loco Markets as we wrap up with the magic of Christmas in July. Wander through twinkling market stalls filled with festive treats, ride the Christmas-themed Trackless Train, decorate your own gingerbread creation, and enjoy live music with a merry twist.

Don’t miss your last chance to join our immersive 60-minute Heritage Walking Tour, led by the Australian Railway Historical Society. Discover the stories, people, and legacy that shaped South Eveleigh. Plus, step into South Eveleigh’s industrial past with live foundry demos, hands-on coin pressing, and open weekends inside the working blacksmithing forge of Eveleigh Works.

Weekend Family Fun  

Gingerbread Making Workshop 
Get ready to sprinkle, ice, and delight at our Gingerbread Decorating Workshop! Each guest will decorate three deliciously festive cookies – perfect to take home, share (or secretly keep for yourself!). Pick from three sessions - 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm on Saturday or Sunday, 26 - 27 July. Each ticket is $10+BF - book a spot here.

Trackless Train Rides 
Our Trackless Train is getting a festive makeover! Take a joyful ride around the precinct and feel the Christmas in July magic at every turn. No need to book - swing by and hop on in on Saturday and Sunday, 26 - 27 July, from 11am - 4pm. 

 

Eveleigh Works  

Mobile Foundry Demonstrations
Thursday, 24 July, 4 - 6pm
Location: Locomotive Street 

A compact, working foundry set up in public space. These live sessions reveal the process of heating and forming metal using coal fire, hammers, and hand-built rigs – echoing the industrial rhythm that once defined this precinct.

Coin Press Workshop
Sunday, 27 July, 10 - 11am | 15 minute sessions 
Location: Eveleigh Works

Create a personalised brass coin using fire, a mechanical fly press, and your own hands. Each coin takes shape through a short, guided session – a keepsake that feels real, weighty, and connected to the tools and time that made it. Each ticket is $15+BF - Book now. 

Open Workshop Weekends
Sunday, 27 July, 10am - 5pm
On select weekends, Eveleigh Works will be open to the public. Come through to explore the space, meet the people keeping these skills alive, and experience the texture and pace of a working forge in the middle of the city.

 

Heritage Walking Tour 

Thursday 24 July: 12 - 1pm
Sunday, 27 July: 10 - 11am or 12 - 1pm

Uncover the legacy of South Eveleigh on a 60-minute guided tour, created in partnership with the Australian Railway Historical Society. Explore South Eveleigh's rich industrial past, discover personal stories of the workers who kept it running, and learn about the remarkable process of turning this 134 year old industrial space into a living museum and vibrant multi-use innovation precinct.
